Using SubbieSnap

What does SubbieSnap cost?
Nothing for subbies, ever. Firms get free job posts when they join, then buy packs of posts on the website when they need more, or take a monthly or yearly plan if they hire often. Posts don't run out, and there's no fee per hire.
Is SubbieSnap an agency? Does it take a cut?
No. Firms hire subbies directly and pay them directly, just as they do now. SubbieSnap never takes a cut of anyone's pay, and labour agencies can't post jobs.
Where does it work?
Across the United Kingdom. Jobs show the area and how far away they are, and subbies choose how far they'll travel.
Is there an app?
Yes, for iPhone and Android, coming to the App Store and Google Play soon. Everything works on the website in the meantime, on a phone or a computer.
What kind of work is on it?
Day work, at a day or hourly rate, and price work, at a fixed price per square metre, per plot or per job. The firm sets the rate, and it's shown on every job. There are no quotes or tenders.

Trust and records

How do reviews work?
After a job, the firm and each subbie it hired review each other. Neither sees the other's review until both are in, or until 14 days have passed. Each side can reply once to a review about them.
What's a pay-day check?
When pay falls due under the job's terms, the subbie is asked whether they were paid on time, late or not at all. Once a firm has three or more, its profile shows how often it pays on time. Single answers are never shown, so nobody can tell who said what.
How are firms checked?
Limited companies are checked at Companies House: whether they're active, how long they've traded, overdue accounts and any insolvency. Firms listed as employment agencies have their posts held for review.
What happens if someone doesn't turn up?
A firm can mark a subbie who accepted the job and didn't turn up as a no-show, which goes on their record. A firm that cancels two days or less before the start gets that on its own record.

Your details

Who sees my cards, insurance and ID?
Only firms that shortlist you for a job. Before that, firms see which cards you hold and when they expire, but not the documents. Every time a firm opens one, it's logged, and you can see who opened it.
When does a firm get my phone number?
Once you've accepted its offer. Until then, you talk through the chat, which opens when a firm shortlists you or invites you to a job.
Can I apply as a gang?
Yes. The ganger sets up the gang, sends the invite link, and applies for the gang, choosing who goes. Each member keeps their own profile and record, and can still take work on their own.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, at any time, in the app or on the website. Your name, email address, profiles, documents, photos, gangs and chats are deleted straight away. Your jobs, hires and reviews stay on the records without your name, so nobody can clear a bad record by leaving.

Ready when you are
